Summer Academy

Summer Academy is a program for middle and high school students who want to take additional school year classes during their summer vacation. Classes that are required for graduation or promotion to the next grade level will require consulting with a guidance counselor prior to enrollment.

About The Program

Maggie’s Outreach Summer Academy is a summer program for middle and high school students (ages 11 to 17), based on strengthening and reinforcing their skills in reading, writing, critical thinking and discussion. Engaging workshops and off campus excursions help to make our Summer Academy one of the best around.

What To Expect

Participants in the Summer Academy can expect to have an enjoyable time learning and having fun with other students. Classes are similar in style and structure to traditional school year classes. Students should be prepared to come in on the first day ready to learn and with their supplies in hand. At the end of the semester students will have to take a final exam for their classes and the final grade will be applied to their transcript. PE students should bring their own change of appropriate clothes.

Requirements To Join

To be a member of the Summer Academy, you must be a youth between the ages of 11 and 17 years old. Youth must also be members of the Youth Enrichment Center. Meetings occur once a week and attendance will be mandatory. If a member is unable to attend a meeting that week, they must provide staff with advance notice.
