Whether it be through music, drawing or dance we want them to know that there is a place where their sense of creativity is welcomed.
About The Program
Our Youth & Arts Community Program seeks to find engaging ways in which youth can express themselves and to remain out of trouble. The arts are the perfect medium for displaying individuality and creativity in a positive manner.
What To Expect
Participants of the Youth & Arts Community should expect to have their time filled with producing creative activities. There are many aspects to art and each student will have the chance to express themselves and the art that they love. Areas will be dedicated to music, traditional art, and dance. Students will be provided with the opportunity to share the art that they create with others. There will be plenty of art supplies available but we also accept donations from parents and community members. Classes will be taught by volunteers from the community and by art and music teachers from local area schools.
Requirements To Join
To be a member of the Youth & Arts Community, you must be a youth between the ages of 9 and 17 years old. Youth must also be members of the Youth Enrichment Center. Meetings occur once a week and attendance will be mandatory. If a member is unable to attend a meeting that week, they must provide staff with advance notice.
What People Are Saying About Maggies
``Prior to Maggie's outreach youth Enrichment Center. I was confused. At the time I was going through some things which caused me to make bad choices. Before I got to the program I used the wrong friends as influences. The program has showed me how to be myself and choose better friends that want to see me succeed rather than to fail.``-Savana Austin
``l really cant find the words to say how I feel. I really thank you both Ms. Ophelia and Mrs. Gloria for the kindness that you hove shown me while I was taking my last course of training in the computer class. I have enjoyed every day of my leanings, and wish that I could continue to stay!!!! THANK YOU...``- Emma Purcell
``Maggie's Outreach Community Center has added value to my life. The skills I have learned are very fundamental to my intellectual growth. I have learned workforce and career readiness skills. I have volunteered and strengthened my customer service skills, and I was able to network with important people in the community. My experience was one to remember and I am very grateful for the services they offer!``- Cori McGregor
