World Championship Of Chess

The World Championship Chess program is for middle and high school students who enjoy playing chess. Each day brings an exciting challenge to test the current ability of each student.

About The Program

The goal of World Championship Chess is to provide students with the resources they need to develop or improve their chess-playing abilities. We believe the game of chess is one that will strengthen the mental fortitude of those who play it. There is a high emphasis on critical thinking to develop game-winning strategies.

What To Expect

Participants should expect to play fun and exciting games of chess with other lovers of the game. For those who are interested in chess but do not know how to play the game, there will be staff who can teach you the general rules regarding the game. There will also be fun chess puzzles to challenge your knowledge about the game. The first day will be spent getting to know each student’s level of knowledge about the game. Students will be divided into groups based on their ability rather than their age. Chess sets will be provided but students are welcome to bring their own if they wish.

Requirements To Join

To be a member of the World Championship Chess, you must be a youth between the ages of 11 and 17 years old. Youth must also be members of the Youth Enrichment Center.
